Niente Champions? Colpa del Milan!

Lo abbiamo visto nel precedente post: Tuttosport sferra un ultimo, disperato attacco nel giorno in cui la FIGC deciderà sullo scudetto 2006. Il giornale “dimentica” però che la nuova norma dell’UEFA che dovrebbe escludere l’Inter dall’iscrizione alla Champions, è entrata in vigore il 27 aprile 2007, pertanto i reati antecedenti, quindi anche quelli cui si riferirebbe l’eventuale censura della FIGC che piace tanto alla redazione del quotidiano filo juventino, risultano coperti da prescrizione. Bene, chiarito questo punto veniamo al titolo del post. Sapete perché l’UEFA nel 2007 ha modificato il suo Statuto? Perché l’anno prima, con il vecchio regolamento ancora in vigore, non aveva potuto rifiutare l’iscrizione del Milan condannato per i fatti di Calciopoli. I rossoneri diventarono campioni, ma quel titolo è indelebilmente oscurato da ombre etiche e morali, giacché, come fa notare oggi qualcuno, “il palmares non si prescrive”. AC Milan admitted to UEFA Champions League

UEFA Emergency Panel admits AC Milan to UCL Third qualifying round

Having examined the request of the Italian Football Association (FIGC) to register AC Milan for the UEFA Champions League 2006/07, the submissions of the Chief Disciplinary Inspector of UEFA, and the statements of AC Milan and the FIGC, the UEFA Emergency Panel has today admitted AC Milan to participate in the Third qualifying round of the 2006/07 UEFA Champions League. As a result, the Italian club plays the two legs of the competition’s third qualifying round as drawn on 28 July 2006 in Nyon.

The UEFA Emergency Panel, being competent to decide on this matter, came to the conclusion that it had no choice but to admit AC Milan for the UEFA club competitions 2006/07 for formal reasons because of an insufficient legal basis in the regulations which would allow not admitting AC Milan under the specific circumstances.

The UEFA Emergency Panel made a clear statement to the club that “this admission is far from being given with the utmost conviction. AC Milan takes the advantage of the fact that UEFA lacks of legal grounds to refuse the club’s admission. In this respect, AC Milan is here with informed that the necessary adaptations will be made to the Regulations concerned. The UEFA Emergency Panel is deeply concerned that AC Milan has created the impression of being involved in the improper influencing of the regular course of matches in the Italian football championship.”

From the statement of AC Milan the Panel concluded that “the club has obviously not yet properly perceived the troubles it is in and the damage it already caused to European Football. UEFA and the club’s opponents will observe with the utmost attention the future attitude of AC Milan around UEFA club competition fixtures. UEFA will not hesitate to intervene severely, should AC Milan be involved in any activities aiming to arrange improperly the outcome of a match.”

Traduzione - A causa di una falla nella norma giuridica, l’Emergency Panel UEFA non ha avuto altra scelta se non quella di ammettere per motivi formali il Milan alla Champions League 2006/07. L’Emergency Panel UEFA ha rilasciato al club una dichiarazione chiara “questa ammissione è ben lungi dall’essere data con la massima convinzione. AC Milan sfrutta il fatto che alla UEFA manchino le basi legali per rifiutare l’ammissione del club. A questo proposito, il Milan è informato che d’ora in poi saranno apportate al regolamento in questione le opportune modifiche. L’Emergency Panel UEFA è profondamente preoccupata del fatto che il Milan abbia influenzato impropriamente il regolare svolgimento delle partite del campionato di calcio italiano“. Dalla dichiarazione del Milan il gruppo ha concluso che “il club ha, ovviamente, non ancora adeguatamente compreso le difficoltà in cui si trova e il danno che ha causato al calcio europeo. L’UEFA e gli avversari del club osserveranno con la massima attenzione il futuro atteggiamento del Milan in tutte le competizioni per club UEFA. La UEFA non esiterà a intervenire severamente qualora venisse stabilito che il Milan sia coinvolto in attività volte a organizzare in modo improprio il risultato di una partita“.
